Our Process
-

Control Inflammation
Reduce redness, swelling, and irritation using targeted treatments, soothing skincare, and lifestyle changes for faster healing and comfort.
-

reduce breakouts
Cleanse gently, use noncomedogenic products, exfoliate weekly, maintain hydrated skin, manage stress, and consult a dermatologist for persistent breakouts.
-

prevent scarring
Keep wounds clean, moisturized, and protected; avoid picking, use silicone sheets or gels, sun protection, and follow medical advice.
Quick Fact
Who it’s for: Teens & adults with whiteheads/blackheads, papules/pustules, cystic or back acne
Typical improvement: Visible control in 2–8 weeks with consistent care (varies by severity)
Common clinic options: acne laser, yellow laser, chemical peels, LED blue/red light, medical facials, doctor-prescribed medication
Sessions: Lasers 4–8; peels 3–6; medication reviewed monthly
Downtime: Typically minimal; depends on modality
Doctor’s note: Early treatment lowers the risk of acne scars; maintenance reduces relapse
WHAT CAUSES ACNE
Acne occurs when pores are clogged with oil (sebum), dead skin and bacteria. Inflammation then produces different lesion types — comedones, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts.
Triggers include hormonal changes, stress/sleep, occlusive cosmetics and, in some individuals, high-GI diets.
Common contributing factors
Increased sebum and sticky dead skin cells
Overgrowth of Cutibacterium acnes
Hormonal changes (teens, adult females)
Heat/humidity and sweat (common in SG)
Certain medications or products (comedogenic)
How Doctors Treat Acne in Singapore
Your treatment plan is personalised after assessment. Depending on acne type and severity, we may combine:
-
retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, azelaic/salicylic acid; topical clascosterone, short antibiotic courses where appropriate
-
antibiotics; selected cases may consider isotretinoin with monitoring of blood tests (doctor-supervised); women may consider hormonal options
-
yellow laser for oil control and pore purification
PICO laser for, hyperpigmentation (dark brown spots), scars and resurfacing
Chemical peels to unclog pores and to reduce hyperpigmentation
LED blue/red light therapy to calm inflammation
Medical facials to deep-clean with minimal extraction
CO2 laser for skin resurfacing
Which Acne Treatment is Right for me? (By Severity)
-
salicylic/glycolic chemical peel, Hydrafacial, skincare; consider LED adjuncts
-
Yellow laser or specialised acne laser + topicals; short course oral antibiotics if indicated
-
physician‑supervised oral medications; consider procedural add‑ons case‑by‑case
-
often needs longer treatment; laser/peel + appropriate topicals and hygiene
