Derma V Laser Singapore
Long-Pulsed Laser for Redness, Rosacea, Veins & Hair Removal
Looking for Derma V treatment in Singapore?
At Emberwood Aesthetics, Derma V is a dual-wavelength vascular and pigment laser designed to target visible redness, unwanted blood vessels and selected brown discolouration with precision.
At Emberwood Aesthetics in Wheelock Place, Singapore, every Derma V treatment begins with a consultation with Dr Jolenda. Your treatment settings are personalised according to your skin type, concern, treatment area and clinical findings.
Derma V may be used to address:
Facial redness and flushing
Rosacea-associated redness and visible vessels
Broken capillaries and telangiectasia
Spider veins and selected deeper vessels
Cherry angiomas and other selected vascular lesions
Post-acne redness
Selected pigmentation and brown spots
Active acne as part of a broader treatment plan
Unwanted facial or body hair
Results and suitability vary between individuals. A consultation is required to establish the diagnosis and determine whether Derma V is the appropriate treatment.
What is Derma V Long-Pulsed Laser?
Derma V combines two long-pulsed laser wavelengths in one platform:
532 nm KTP: Targets more superficial red vessels and selected brown pigment.
1064 nm Nd:YAG: Penetrates more deeply and may be used for larger or deeper vessels, selected vascular concerns and long-term hair reduction.
The laser energy is absorbed by the intended target, such as haemoglobin within a blood vessel or melanin within a hair follicle. Heat is delivered in a controlled manner while the surrounding skin is protected as far as possible.
Derma V also incorporates Variable Sequential Pulsing, IntelliTrak technology, real-time temperature sensing and adjustable cryogen cooling. These features allow Dr Jolenda to customise energy delivery, coverage and cooling for the treatment area.
What Skin Concerns Can Derma V Laser Treat and How Does It Work?
Derma V is a dual-wavelength long-pulsed laser designed for vascular and selected pigment-related concerns. It combines 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths, allowing the doctor to select an appropriate wavelength and treatment setting according to the depth, colour and nature of the target.
Redness & Visible Blood Vessels
The 532 nm wavelength can be used for more superficial vascular targets. Laser energy is absorbed by haemoglobin within the targeted blood vessels, generating controlled heat within the vessel.
Depending on individual assessment, Derma V may be considered for concerns involving facial redness, visible superficial blood vessels and selected vascular lesions.
Deeper Vascular Concerns
The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply, making it useful when the intended vascular target lies deeper within the skin.
The choice of wavelength, spot size, pulse structure and energy depends on factors such as the size, depth, colour and location of the vessel, as well as the patient's skin type.
Selected Brown Pigmentation
The 532 nm wavelength can also interact with melanin, allowing Derma V to be considered for selected superficial pigmented concerns.
However, not every brown mark should be treated cosmetically with a laser. New, changing, suspicious or undiagnosed pigmented lesions should be medically assessed before treatment.
How Does Derma V Work?
Derma V delivers controlled laser energy to a selected target within the skin. Depending on the concern being treated, the target may include haemoglobin within a blood vessel or melanin within selected pigmented areas.
The system incorporates Variable Sequential Pulsing, IntelliTrak™, real-time skin-temperature monitoring and adjustable cryogen cooling, allowing treatment parameters and epidermal cooling to be adapted according to the treatment area and clinical objective.
Can Derma V Help Rosacea and Persistent Facial Redness?
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that may cause persistent redness, flushing, visible blood vessels and acne-like bumps. Derma V can target the vascular component of rosacea, including background redness and visible facial vessels.
During treatment, the selected wavelength is absorbed by haemoglobin within unwanted blood vessels. This may gradually reduce the appearance of redness and prominent capillaries as the treated vessels are cleared by the body.
Laser treatment does not cure rosacea or remove its underlying tendency to recur. The best outcomes often involve a broader rosacea plan that may include:
Appropriate prescription or topical treatment
Gentle skincare and barrier repair
Daily sun protection
Identification of personal triggers
Maintenance laser sessions when indicated
Dr Jolenda will first assess whether your redness is due to rosacea, sensitive skin, acne, dermatitis, sun damage or another condition.
Can Derma V Be Used for Active Acne and Post-Acne Redness?
Derma V may be used as an adjunctive treatment for selected patients with active inflammatory acne. Its laser energy may help reduce inflammation, redness and activity within treated areas.
It may also be useful for post-acne erythema, the flat red or pink marks that remain after inflamed spots have healed. These marks are different from brown post-inflammatory pigmentation and indented acne scars, so the most suitable treatment depends on the type of mark present.
Derma V is not a substitute for a complete acne treatment plan. Depending on the severity and cause of your acne, your doctor may recommend combining laser treatment with medical skincare, topical medication or oral treatment.
Can Derma V Be Used for Laser Hair Removal?
The long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd wavelength can target melanin within hair follicles to achieve progressive, long-term hair reduction.
Derma V laser hair removal may be considered for areas such as the:
Upper lip and chin
Jawline and neck
Underarms
Arms and legs
Back or chest
Bikini area
Hair grows in cycles, and the laser is most effective when follicles are in an active growth phase. A course of treatments is therefore usually needed, followed by occasional maintenance where required.
Laser treatment reduces hair growth but does not guarantee permanent removal of every hair. Hormonal factors, hair colour, hair thickness and treatment area can all influence results. Grey, white and very light hairs generally respond poorly because they contain little melanin.
Why Choose Emberwood Aesthetics for Derma V Laser Treatment?
Doctor-Led Consultation and Assessment Before Laser Treatment
Redness, visible vessels and pigmentation can have different underlying causes, and not every concern should be treated with the same laser or settings. At Emberwood Aesthetics, Dr Jolenda assesses your skin and the concern being treated before recommending whether Derma V is appropriate.
Laser Settings Personalised to Your Skin
Derma V offers 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths together with adjustable treatment parameters and cooling. Treatment is individualised according to factors such as the type, depth and location of the target, treatment area and your skin characteristics, rather than applying the same protocol to every patient.
The Right Laser for the Right Concern
No single laser is ideal for every form of redness or pigmentation. Where Derma V is not the most appropriate option, other technologies such as picosecond laser treatments or RF microneedling may be considered, either as an alternative or as part of a broader treatment plan. The approach is selected according to your skin concern, clinical assessment and treatment goals.
Careful Treatment Planning & Follow-Up
Before proceeding, we discuss the treatment plan, expected response, potential downtime and relevant risks. Where appropriate, subsequent treatment can be reviewed and adjusted according to your clinical response.

Frequently Asked Questions about DermaV Laser
-
No. Derma V is a dual-wavelength laser using specific 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths. IPL uses a broader spectrum of light. The most appropriate option depends on the diagnosis, depth of the target, skin type and treatment goal.
-
No. Rosacea is a chronic condition and may recur. Derma V Laser can help reduce its vascular signs, such as persistent redness and visible vessels, but ongoing skincare, trigger management, medical treatment or maintenance sessions may still be needed.
-
Derma V Laser may help selected red acne marks or vascular redness associated with scars. It is not primarily a resurfacing laser for deep or indented acne scars.
Treatments such as fractional laser, RF microneedling or other scar-directed procedures may be more appropriate after assessment.
-
The 532 nm wavelength can target selected superficial brown pigment. However, pigmentation has many possible causes, and conditions such as melasma require careful assessment because heat and inflammation may sometimes worsen them.
-
The 1064 nm wavelength may be suitable for a wider range of skin tones when used with appropriate settings. Nevertheless, all laser treatments carry a risk of burns and post-inflammatory pigmentation. Skin type, recent sun exposure and the intended target must be assessed before treatment.
-
The timeline depends on what is being treated. Some vessels may appear less visible after the initial recovery period, while diffuse redness, acne or hair reduction generally requires a series of sessions. Improvement is progressive and results vary.
